As you have probably figured out, my name is Jim and I am a writer. For many years, I was a college writing teacher, too — among many other life roles.
I have another, more popular blog called Life After Carbs. It’s about losing weight on a reduced carbohydrate diet. And it’s about me — my favorite topic! (I haven’t added to Life After Carbs for several years, but it is still available.)
This blog is also about me. Here you can expect to find my short fiction (usually very short) and personal essays. Maybe a poem or two. You know, literary writing. Creative writing.
The one kind of writing I never taught.
Think of this as my studio. Most times, you’ll find me over by the window, sipping coffee. Once in a while I’ll jot down a few words on a yellow legal pad.
At some point, I’ll cross out most of what I have written. Then I’ll write a sentence or three more.
So it will go until I finish the coffee, close the window-blinds, and get down to work.
But you’ll have left by then.
